This Privacy Policy explains how Shadop.dev (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Archmage software (the “Software”) and the shadop.dev website (the “Site”). If you have any questions about it, contact us at [email protected].
Archmage does not require a license key to run. The license and device information described below is received only when you activate or manage a paid license.
When you activate a license, we receive the license key together with information that identifies the computer you are activating it on, its operating system, and the time of the request. We store this device information, together with the time the device was bound, so that the number of devices a license covers can be applied, but we do not store the license key itself.
While a paid license is in use, the Software periodically renews the authorisation held by that device, sending the device information described above so that the limit can continue to be applied. Listing or releasing your devices works the same way.
When you release a device, we keep a record of the release for a short period so that the limits described in our Terms and Conditions can be applied.
The Software may make requests to public third-party internet services. These requests carry no license, device, or project information; as with any such request, the operator of that service receives your IP address.
If you contact us for support, ask a question, or sign up to hear from us, we receive whatever you choose to send, typically your email address, the contents of your message, and any files you attach, such as logs, sample projects, or configuration files. Please send only what is needed to answer your question, and remove anything confidential that we do not need to see.
Purchases are handled by a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. That provider collects the payment and billing details needed to complete your order and applies its own privacy policy to them. We do not receive or store your full payment details. We receive order and license information, such as the product purchased and the email address associated with the order.
When you visit the Site, technical information is recorded automatically, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, and the time of your visit. We may also use cookies, similar technologies, and analytics tools to understand how the Site is used and to improve it.
We may collect diagnostic, error, or crash information from the Software to help us find and fix problems.
Archmage runs on your own computer. It does not upload your project files, configuration data, exported data, or generated code to our servers. These stay on your machine unless you choose to send them to us, for example as an attachment to a support request.
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases for processing your personal information: performance of a contract with you (licensing, purchases, and support); our legitimate interests (securing our software, preventing abuse, and improving what we offer); your consent, where we ask for it, such as for optional analytics or marketing email, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations.
We share information with service providers that work on our behalf, for example hosting and infrastructure, payment processing, analytics, and email and support tools. They may use it only to provide those services to us.
We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law, or where it is necessary to protect our rights, our users, or the security of our services.
We do not sell your personal information.
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. Where information is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on safeguards recognised under applicable data protection law.
We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, for example for as long as a license is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, and for as long as we are required to keep it by law.
We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, to receive a copy of it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent you have given. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Archmage is a professional development tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above.
